What Clients Are Saying

I asked Pamela to edit my novel draft for plot and character consistency. She returned to me a three-page description of items she thought warranted my attention. She was right about everything. I took her advice on structural changes and story line inconsistencies. She made very helpful comments about mechanics, and she assisted me in assigning its genre. No matter how many times I would go back and edit myself, I was never going to catch all the things guaranteed to bother my readers. Pam’s discerning eye gave me the help I needed. Once I had put her advice into effect, I felt much more confident about moving on to publishing my manuscript.

I have been in banking and commercial real estate for nearly 40 years. When I decided to take a sabbatical and write an essential book on our housing industry, I found I knew little about the world of writing and authoring works. I feel pretty lucky to have found Pam during the editing process of the book. She was patient and understanding and took the time to walk me through what I needed to accomplish in a reasonable timeline. During our time together, Pam displayed talent in editing. As with works of nonfiction and, in my case, nearly 700 citations to be facilitated, Pam was there to both teach and perform her duties. Her understanding of editing grew far more than that of her peers. It’s not just her technical skills that impress me, however. Pam was a joy to work with because of her amazingly positive attitude and determination. Her patience and willingness to put in the extra assistance I needed were valued not just by myself but by her peers who often relied on her to get the job done.

I hired Pamela to polish up a book proposal and query letter for me. She did an excellent job of following my direction and making valuable suggestions to improve my work. She also communicated very well with me and completed the job in a very timely manner. I was very pleased with her work. So much so in fact, that I extended the contract to have her format my manuscript for me as well. Pamela is a great freelancer and I highly recommend her for your writing and editing needs.

Pamela is an excellent editor! I am so glad I found her and used her services. She not only read and edited my manuscript, but she gave me tips and insight in a number of areas to make the book better. She has the heart of a teacher and supported me throughout the whole process. She is so easy to work with, is very organized, and gives great feedback.  I had her do far more than just editing the book—she helped me get to the finished project with grace and style. Truly, this book would not have been completed without her.

My sister and I collaborated on our first novel (historical/fiction/mystery) and commissioned Pamela to edit it. As newbies at self-publishing, we appreciated that she was helpful in explaining the many a la carte options and resources. It is not easy to turn over your baby to someone for assessment and critiquing, but we sensed that she was engaged in our story, recognized our objective, and even took interest in the characters and their plights. Pam communicated well about inaccuracies in spelling and grammar, and respectfully offered restructuring recommendations. She returned our document for review at different stages in a timely fashion with constructive feedback throughout the process. Pam was just the right balance of cheerleading and candid suggestions, and we would recommend her highly. She broadened our scope in our writer’s journey, and we look forward to working with her on our
sequel.

After finishing my book’s first draft, I needed a copy as well as a line editor. I am glad I found Pam, who not only performed these two important tasks but also did the proofreading. My draft was over 90,000 words, which fills 350 pages. Pam painstakingly did a very thorough job. She was always available to answer questions and provide advice. I often picked her brain for my concerns about the publisher, printer, and other related questions about publishing the book. She is very knowledgeable about bringing a book into the market. I owe Pam a ton of gratitude for the excellent editorial job she did. I am pleased to say that my book is doing well.
